Purium Reviews – Scam Or Legit? Compensation Plan Breakdown

One of the questions that we have to find out before we join any opportunity is to learn if it is a scam or legitimate opportunity we can earn money with.
We are going to share the results from the research we’ve done on the Purium company, the products, and the compensation plan to see if the company has a good business model and is in compliance.
We wouldn’t want to join an opportunity just to learn later on it was a scam from day one and we end up losing all the money and time we invested into it when we could have of totally avoided it.
By the time you read this entire review, you will have a good understanding of whether or not the Purium opportunity is a scam and if it is right for you as well.
The reason why I decided to take a closer look was from a few promotions I’ve seen online and wanted to learn more about it.

So, what is Purium?
Purium is an MLM opportunity that offers health and nutritional supplements and also the opportunity to earn money with.
The opportunity has been around for a few years which has been stable in growth and profit in the last few years.
I’ve reviewed a few MLM programs with both good and bad results, but Purium is actually one of the good ones.
I will get into more information about how I came to this conclusion below but you can rest assured that Purium is not a scam and a legitimate MLM business that you can earn long-term money with.

The Purium Company Overview
In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at the Purium company information we found.
When researching any MLM company, you really want to know who is behind the opportunity to learn what their background and to see what experience they have.
Many companies don’t disclose this information which automatically draws up red flags due to the fact that they want to be secretive.
With that said…
The owner and CEO are David Sandoval and Amy Venner that launched the Purium opportunity back in 2004.
The company is based out of Long Beach, California 90813. David and Amy had started a green foods manufacturing company back in 1993 that was a small operation that the products used in their manufacturing facility was grown locally by a privately owned farm.
Some of their customers included large international companies that fueled much of their profit.
When one of the large companies failed to keep doing business with them, they took a big hit which led to hardships with the company.
This led David and Amy to start branding themselves as Platinum Health Products which later turned into Purium.
The face of the company is David with Amy having the title of President with the advertising that we see the company has in place.
Here are some bullet points about David’s background according to the company website:
- David saw a lot of obesity, cancer, diabetes and other illnesses which he has seen the conventional diet as the culprit.
- He knew he needed a change his diet which led him to do a ton of research on nutrition and healthy foods.
- He found the answers he was looking for that turned his body around from the typical unhealthy person to a healthy person through eating healthy foods that have the nutrition your body needs.
That is really all there is to it when it comes to the company information, let’s move on to the next section.
Purium Products Review
In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at the Purium products they offer.
Purium offers products that are in the health and wellness niche like nutritional supplements, fitness, weight loss, and anti-aging.
Puriums Mission
According to the Purium company site, they want to help people feel more healthy and live longer by providing the nutrition your body needs.
Purium Product Breakdown
Here is a breakdown of the product that Purium offers by category:
- Family Nutrition – This line of products will provide healthy meals that were designed for children.
- Greens – This products line is all derived from green plants, these products consist of healthy green supplements and a variety of organic juices.
- Athletes – This product line offers products that are designed for a very active person like athletes. This product line includes supplements and shakes that are designed to increase athletic performance including a 10-day transformation guide that is designed for the athlete.
- Weight Loss – This product line consists of meal replacement shakes and supplements designed to help you lose weight. This line also includes a 10-day transformation that was designed to help someone lose weight as well.
- Anti-Aging – This product line is designed to help decrease the signs of aging and improve overall health. This product line includes anti-aging skin creams, and supplements designed for the heart, and joint health with additional supplements designed to improve total body health.
This is not a unique concept to the MLM industry but the health and wellness industry is so huge that everyone can have a piece of the pie and still make an incredible living selling these products for a long-term business model.
Everyone will have the need to improve their health at one point in their life!

Purium Compensation Plan Breakdown
In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at the Purium compensation plan and how you earn money with the opportunity.
The Purium opportunity offers the ability to get paid from retail product sales and from sponsoring new affiliate members.
The residual commissions are paid using the MLM unilevel compensation plan structure.
If you are not familiar with how the unilevel compensation plan works here is a quick breakdown:
- 1st Level – This level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have your personally referred members on it.
- 2nd Level – This level of your compensation plan will only have your team members that your personally referred or level 1 members sponsored into Purium.
- 3rd Level – This level of your compensation plan will only have your team members that your level 2 team members personally referred into Purium.
- and so on…
Hopefully, this quick explanation gives you a better idea of how the unilevel compensation plan structure works.
I will go into more detail below on how much you earn with this structure in the residual commission section.
Purium also offers performance-based bonus commissions and first-order fast start commissions.
The main driving factor in how you can earn more or a higher amount of commissions will be based on the rank that you qualify for.
Purium Health Ranks
Purium offers 18 ranks that you can qualify for that will offer more commissions the higher you achieve in rank.
The qualifications to reach the next higher rank will need prior qualifiers in place as well.
Here is a breakdown of each rank and what you need to do to qualify to achieve them:
- Member Rank – All you have to do is sign up as an affiliate member.
- Associate Rank – To qualify for this rank you will need to be on a 50 PV per month auto-ship. (at this rank you qualify for commissions)
- Constructor Rank – To qualify for this rank recruit at least one Associate ranked member and have a total monthly volume of no less than 300 GV
- Consultant Rank – To qualify for this rank recruit at least 2 Associate ranked member and have a total monthly downline volume no less than 1000 GV
- Director Rank – To qualify for this rank recruit at least 3 Associate ranked members and has a total monthly volume of no less than 2500 GV
- Executive Rank – To qualify for this rank Recruits at least 4 Associate ranked member and have a total monthly volume of no less than 6 Thousand GV
- Diamante Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 100 PV per month autoship, recruit at least 3 Associate ranked members and 3 Consultant ranked or higher, and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 15 Thousand GV
- Green Diamond Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 100 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 3 Associate ranked members and 3 Directors ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 30 Thousand GV
- Blue Diamond Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 100 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 3 Associate ranked members and 3 Manager ranked or higher and have a monthly total downline volume of no less than 50 Thousand GV
- Black Diamond Rank – To qualify for this maintain at least a 100 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 3 Associate ranked members and 1 Diamond Ranked and 2 Executive Ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than of 75 Thousand GV
- Red Diamond Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 100 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 3 Associate ranked members 2 Diamond ranked and 1 Executive ranked member or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 100 Thousand GV
- Crown Rank – To qualify for this rank keep at least a 200 PV per month autoship, recruit and retain at least 9 Associate ranked members 1 Blue Diamond ranked and 2 Diamond ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 150 Thousand GV
- Corona 2-star Rank – To qualify for this rank keep at least a 200 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 9 Associate ranked members 2 Blue Diamond ranked and 1 Diamond ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 200 Thousand GV
- 3-Star Crown Rank – To qualify for this rank keep at least a 200 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 9 Associate ranked members 3 Blue Diamond ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 300 Thousand GV
- Corona 4-star Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 200 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 8 Associate ranked members 4 Blue Diamond ranked or higher and have a monthly total team volume of no less than 400 Thousand GV
- 5 stars Corona Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 200 PV per month autoship, keep alme no 7 Associate ranked members 5 Blue Diamond ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 500 Thousand GV
- Royal Crown I Rank – To qualify for this rank maintain at least a 200 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 9 Associate ranked members 3 Crown ranked or higher and have a total monthly downline volume of no less than 750 Thousand GV
- Royal Crown II Rank – To qualify for this rank keep at least a 200 PV per month autoship, maintain at least 9 Associate ranked members 3 Crown Diamond ranked or higher and have a monthly team volume of no less than 1 Million GV
Just a quick guide for some of the acronyms used:
- PV – Personal Volume (the products that you purchase)
- GV – Group Volume (total downline sales volume)
Retail Commissions
As a Purium affiliate member, you can receive retail commissions from retail sales.
When you sell Purium products for retail, you will earn 15%.
If you are on a 50 PV autoship or higher then you will receive 30% per retail sales.
Purium also offers another higher level of percentage of 45%, but you will need to be a certified/licensed health professional and have purchased at least 500 PV of product.
Recruitment Commission
Purium also offers recruitment commissions that you can earn.
Here is a breakdown of what that looks like:
- When you refer 2 affiliate members that purchase the Gold Packs in one week you will earn $75 in commissions.
- When you sponsor 1 affiliate member that purchases the Platinum Enrollment Pack you will earn $150 in commissions, a second Platinum pack in one week will pay another $150, and on the 3rd and 4th will pay $200 per pack, if you are able to reach the 5th one or more, Purium will pay you $250 per Platinum pack sold.
- When you refer a member that purchases the Launch Enrollment pack you will earn $250 in commissions, a second referred pack of the same will pay $250, the 3rd and 4th pays $300, and 5 and more packs of the same will earn you $350 in commissions for each one.
Remember that the count starts over from zero when the new week starts.
First Purchase Commissions (Fast Start)
Like most other MLM companies, Purium will award you an upfront commission when a customer or affiliate member purchase their first product order.
Not only can you earn from personal referrals, but also on your team members when you qualify.
They use the unilevel compensation plan structure to pay out these commissions and offer 4 levels that you can earn from.
Here is a breakdown of the commissions that you can earn with the qualifications you must meet as well to get paid additional levels:
- Associate Rank – At this rank, you qualify to earn 25% on level 1 (personally referred only)
- Builder Rank – At this rank, you qualify to earn 25% on level 1 and 5% on level 2 from your unilevel compensation structure.
- Consultant Rank – At this rank, you qualify to earn 25% on level 1 and 5% on levels 2 and 3 from your unilevel pay structure.
- Director Rank – At this rank, you qualify to earn 25% on level 1 and 5% on levels 2 through 4 from your unilevel pay structure.
Purium Compensation Plan Chart
Residual Commissions
Residual commissions are paid out using the MLM unilevel compensation plan structure.
Depending on the rank you qualify for, the more money you can make from your unilevel pay plan.
The higher the rank, the more levels down you can earn commissions.
Purium offers 8 levels of unilevel commissions you can earn residual commissions.
Here is a breakdown of how this looks:
- Associate Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on level 1. (personally referred members only)
- Builder Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on levels 1 and 2.
- Consultant Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on levels 1 through 4.
- Director Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on levels 1 through 5.
- Executive Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on levels 1 through 6 and 3% on level 7.
- Diamond Rank – When you qualify for this rank you can earn 5% on levels 1 through 6 and 3% on levels 7 and 8.
The percentage that you earn is from the volume that each product is worth not the price point of the product purchased.
So, if an affiliate member purchased a $100 product, but the company awards you with 80 volume points, the percentage that you earn from is the 80 volume points, not the $100.
Infinity Bonus Commissions
This Infinity bonus will pay out beyond the 8 levels of unilevel pay once you qualify at the rank of Green Diamond.
This will qualify you to earn a 2% Infinity Bonus on o1 generation starting on level 9.
A generation is when one Green Diamond is found in 1 of your unilevel legs.
Matching Bonus Commissions
The matching bonus commissions will pay you a percentage of the residual earning that your personally referred members earn including your team members when you qualify.
This will add to your personal production residual commissions you make.
The matching bonus is paid down 4 level of the unilevel compensation plan.
Depending on your rank, the more levels of matching pay you can earn from your team members.
Here is how it is broken down:
- Diamond Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on level 1 of your unilevel pay plan.
- Green and Blue Diamond Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on level 1 and 5% on level 2 of your unilevel pay plan.
- Black and Red Diamond Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10 on levels 1 and 2 of your unilevel pay plan.
- Crown and 2-Star Crown Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on levels 1 and 2 and 5% on level 3 of your unilevel pay plan.
- 3-Star Crown to 5-Star Crown Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on levels 1 to 3 of your unilevel pay plan.
- Royal Crown II Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on levels 1 to 4 of your unilevel pay plan.
- Royal Crown II Rank – When qualified at this rank you can earn a match of 10% on levels 1 to 3 and 20% on level 4 of your unilevel pay plan.
Rank Achievement Bonus Commissions
This rank achievement bonus commissions are paid out once you achieve a new higher rank in the compensation plan.
This bonus has a time limit and is only a one time commission that is paid out once you hit the new rank.
Here is how that looks:
- Consultant Rank – You will need to qualify for this rank in 3 months to earn a $50 bonus which also pays your sponsor $50.
- Director Rank – You will need to qualify for this rank in 4 months to earn $100 which also pays your sponsor $100.
- Executive Rank – You will need to qualify for this rank in 5 months to earn $200 which also pays your sponsor $200.
Purium also offers a Rank bonus when you hit the rank of Diamond which does not have a time limit.
When you qualify for the rank of Diamond you will earn a one-time bonus of $50.
Lifestyle Bonus Commissions
Purium offers additional residual commissions that you can earn that is called a Lifestyle bonus.
These commissions start when you qualify as a Diamond rank and are paid each month as long as you stay qualified.
Here is a breakdown of what this looks like:
- Diamond Rank – Earn $300 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- Green Diamond Rank – Earn $600 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- Blue Diamond Rank – Earn $1200 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- Black Diamond Rank – Earn $180 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- Red Diamond Rank – Earn $2500 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- Crown Rank – Earn $3000 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- 2-Star Crown Rank – Earn $4000 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- 3-Star Crown Rank – Earn $5000 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- 4-Star Crown Rank – Earn $7500 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
- 5-Star Crown and higher Rank – Earn $10,000 per month extra as long as you stay qualified at this rank.
Diamond And Crown Commission Pools
The “pools” are a percentage that you can earn from the profits made by the company when you qualify.
This is calculated by shares that you earn and then divided by everyone else that qualifies for the pools with their shares that they earn.
The Purium profit pools are split up into 2 separate pools, the crown, and the diamond pools.
The Crown pool consists of 3% of Purium’s US sales volume.
Here is a breakdown of the share of company sales volume that you can earn when you qualify as Crown rank and higher:
- Crown Rank – When you qualify at this rank you will receive 1 share
- 2-Star Crown Rank – When you qualify at this rank you will receive 2 shares
- 3-Star Crown Rank – When you qualify at this rank you will receive 3 shares
- 4-Star Crown Rank – When you qualify at this rank you will receive 4 shares
- 5-Star Crown Rank – When you qualify at this rank you will receive 5 shares
The Diamond Pool has two smaller pools that include 1% of Perium’s US sales volume.
Here is are the shares that you can earn for the Diamond pools company sales volume.
- Diamond Rank – At this rank, you will earn 1 share.
- Green Diamond Rank – At this rank, you will earn 2 shares.
- Blue Diamond Rank – At this rank, you will earn 3 shares.
- Black Diamond Rank – At this rank, you will earn 1 share. (separate diamond pool)
- Red Diamond Rank – At this rank, you will earn 2 shares. (separate diamond pool)

Purium FAQ
In this section of the review, we are going to answer some of the questions people may have when considering joining the Purium opportunity.
Is Purium BBB Accredited?
No, Purium is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
However, this is not an indication on whether or not an opportunity is a scam or not from my experience.
The BBB has been known to have manipulated rating and reviews hosted on their own website form 3rd party companies that help improve companies ratings.
I did find a listing that offers no rating, with some reviews, but the accreditation is not there at this time due to unanswered complaints that some customer (2) had.
Either way, the complaints do not make an opportunity a scam.
How Much Does It Cost To Join Purium Health?
The cost to join Purium will depend on what enrollment product package you decide to purchase.
Each package comes with different product amounts and savings if you were to purchase each item individually and at retail.
When you purchase one of these packages this will qualify you to start earning from the compensation plan.
- Daily Get Started Pack – The cost for this pack is $249
- Daily Get Started Gold Pack – The cost for this pack is $398
- Daily Platinum Pack – The cost for this pack is $549
- Daily Launch Pack – The cost for this pack is $1049

Is Purium A Scam Or Legit Opportunity?
In my personal opinion, Purium is not a scam and with the information, I have discovered about the entire business model, Purium is a legitimate MLM company.
- The company offers retail products for customers
- The company offers a fair compensation plan structure
- The company ownership is provided with a good history and experience in the MLM industry
- The owners seem to be very passionate about their product line even before they started the Purium company.
Overall, Purium is a legitimate company that offers a great way to get healthy while earning additional money.
My Final Purium Health Review And Thoughts
In this final section of the review, I am going to share my final thoughts about the Purium opportunity overall.
We have taken the time to gather information on the company, the products, and compensation plan and posted that information here for you so that you can make a great decision on whether or not you feel that Purium is the right opportunity and company for you.
The company offers many great aspects that you want to see in an MLM program, but I do have one con which is:
The cost to join and the products cost is too high for most people!
Now, I get it, the price for healthy products are high, just go to your local Sprouts, or other similar grocery stores and compare prices to the products you can get from Walmart.
But, for most to sustain the time it is going to take to build a successful MLM business is going to take some time.
And for most, after putting in work to build the opportunity, you are not going to see results for many months or more than a year.
With all the other MLM companies that offer similar products at a much lower price point, people are going to lean towards the more affordable option even though you have the best product in the world.
I seen a few companies get hit by this realization.
With that said, of course, this is my opinion but I have been around the industry for a while.
Either way, here is the question…
Would I Recommend Or Join The Purium Opportunity?
I can honestly say that I do recommend it because it is not a scam, but on the other hand, I would not join Purioum simply because I have alternative MLM programs available to me to earn residual income with.
