Is the company going to be around after you’ve built a group of your own?
The NSP business opportunity can be found around the world having been founded in 1972 by the Hughes family at the kitchen table. You can sponsor internationally or work solely within your own country. View video of the founders’ story.
How large is the product line?
Nature’s Sunshine’s product line of more than 600 products provides a wide range of options: single herbs, herbal combinations, vitamins and minerals, supplement specific formulas, Chinese (TCM) formulas, children’s line, pre-packaged programs, 100% authentic essential oils, flower essences, personal care, herbal salves, nutritional beverages, xylitol gums & mints, cleaning concentrate and a quality reverse-osmosis water treatment system.
Can I sell in a retail store?
Yes. Many companies do not allow this. This means you can sponsor retail stores and other businesses like spas, fitness, beauty salons and even massage salons (think essential oils).
What about quality?
Nobody wants to recommend a poor quality product. It may work sometimes, it may not. Since inception NSP has focused on quality, service and integrity. They guarantee their quality and potency. How long does it take to get the product?
If you place your order before noon warehouse time, it will ship the same day. If not it ships the next business day. There are four (4) warehouses for fast delivery. This means you can get an order the next day if you’re near a warehouse or at the most 2-3 days later by UPS. The Mail Innovations reduced shipping fee option may take up to a week. NSP offers promotions for members on shipping.
Can I drop ship orders to customers?
Yes. NSP processes the credit card and ships for you. You get full personal volume credit for the order.
What’s it going to cost me to become a distributor?
You actually join as a Member which is free by placing an order for $40 or more. View membership benefits. You can try it out and be committed to nothing. No automatic shipments every month or required purchases. You may want to begin by just sharing with family and then friends and gradually see how this works for you. You control how quickly you want to grow. We as your Sponsor will be available for questions but we don’t hound you either.
How do I manage customer orders?
The great thing about NSP is that you can sign up anybody that wants products so they can order themselves. Their order volume adds to yours since they use your account number to sign up. If they don’t want to place the required $40 or more order, you could start with ordering for them. Tip: Charge Retail Price or a discount off of the retail, but not the Member Price. There will be no reason for them to sign up and you will be figuring sales tax and shared shipping costs for more people than you want. Share the information on membership benefits and most people will be interested in signing up.
Does the company offer a way to promote my business?
NSP offers MyNSP sites which gives you an instant website to refer people to and also has a lot of “back office” features to stay in touch with your members, send out ecards, join in on the community forum, a to-do list, a goal setting option, a business email address, a blog option, a calendar for appointments, and an address book with robust prospecting tools. What about the monetary payouts?
Over half of every dollar the company receives is paid back to its members and managers in rebates, commissions and benefits. There is a car program available, award trips and conventions included in the Nature’s Sunshine business opportunity, and the best commission bonus plan we’ve seen over the years. We’ve been with NSP since 1982 and have been approached by many network marketers. You begin earning 10% commission for a volume of 100 QV* a month. That’s even if you’re simply a member buying your own products. There’s no distinction on earnings between Members and Distributors until you sponsor others that want to do a business also, then you will receive overrides.
*QV = Qualifying Volume which is usually the same value as Member Price.
What’s the commission plan look like?
NSP offers two commission plans. You will need to choose one when you sign up, but you do have a chance to change it one time only.
The Classic Membership is for those who are going to create a business by reselling the NSP products to friends, family, co-workers or have a retail store. You could also add this to an online business you already have with a link to your NSP website. It fits nicely with any health-related business opportunity. This Classic Membership choice is for those who plan on doing most of their volume themselves and signing up members who have no interest in a business.
$100 – $299.99 QV = 10% bonus rebate
$300 – $599.99 QV = 12% bonus rebate
$600 – $999.99 QV = 18% bonus rebate
$1000 – $2999.99 = 27% bonus rebate – At 1000 QV you gain the rank of Manager and can participate in the promotions for free trips and car plan.
$3000 over = 30% rebate
Examples: At the rank of Manager, you would have 1000 QV in personal monthly sales and get a check for $270. If you had 3000 QV, you’d earn $900 commission. In addition to this amount of bonus, you would add any retail markup on the products sold.
In addition to these bonus rebates, at Manager status you get paid on distributors that have become Managers under you.

4% on 2nd level Managers
2% for 3rd level Managers
.5% – 2% depending on rank for 4th level Managers
.5% – 1% depending on rank for 5th level Managers
The Legacy Membership provides better payouts for those who want to build a network marketing (MLM) group of managers. Focusing on finding business builders/distributors rather than selling a lot of one-on-one product. This plan has higher commissions paid to you on your downline managers and less on your personal sales.
$100 – $499.99 QV = 10% bonus rebate
$500 – $999.99 QV = 15% bonus rebate
$1000+ = 20% bonus rebate – At 1,000 QV you become a Manager.
Examples: If you have only 1000 QV in personal monthly sales you would make $200. If you had 3000 QV in a month, you would earn $600 commission. In addition to this amount of bonus, you would make the retail markup.
These personal bonus rebates are less than the Classic Plan on your personal group sales because the Legacy Plan provides higher payouts for what your group of Managers do.

Robin Sickness has built her NSP business by working with pets. Because her dog had heartworms and was told it was too late to try anything, she went the herbal route and it worked, making her want to help other pet owners. She’s worked with literally thousands of dogs now. She focused on “five little bottles of herbs,” as she put it, that made up the Herbal Heartworm Program.
